Bye Cape Town, Hello Garden Route

It’s been a while since we post our last blog because it has been a busy week for us. Probably you all missed our stories but... we will tell you all our great adventures during this blog.

Last week we were working hard on our project because on Wednesday we had to do our presentation at the office of Abang Africa Travel. So these day were a bit boring but luckily for us we could work in the sun with every now and then a dive in the swimming pool. During these hard working days we earned some free time for ourselves and we had some time to visit our Osna friends! We went to Sihle’s house and we had a nice dinner and wine night with her and Q! Wednesday was the presentation day and Fleur and Laura did a good job, the presentation went very well! Our commissioning client was very happy with the results and we only have to do some little changes to make our bicycle tour perfect.

After these busy days we spent our last day in Cape Town on the beach of Camps bay to relax in the sun and celebrate Charlotte’s birthday. We finished our trip in Cape Town with a nice dinner at the beach with everyone.

Group knysna

The next day we left Cape Town behind us and drove all the way to Knysna. This was a very long day in the bus but we made some nice stops at some beautiful places! At the end of the day we finally arrived at our homestays. We had to split up in two groups. Fleur, Diede and Pleuni were staying in a beautiful homestay with lovely women who arranged everything very well for them. Unfortunately Julia, Demi and Laura didn’t had that much luck and had a very late dinner that they had to prepared by themselves. They first had to clean the chicken than they had to dry the chicken and after this they had to break the chicken but at the end the chicken was delicious.

Blauw aapies

After this exciting experience in the homestays, the next day we went to get up early to continue our travel along the Garden route. The first stop of this day was the Waterfront of Knysna. This Waterfront was a bit boring if you compare it with the Waterfront of Cape Town. Maybe the reason for this was the program for this afternoon. We went to the Bloukrans Bridge, this is a very high bridge where you can do a bungee jump of 216 meters. Laura and Pleuni were the tough guys of the group and did the bungee! Luckily they survived this crazy adventure! The non bungee jumpers had to cook this night in our new accommodation in Tsitsikamma.

Again we had to get up early the next day to do a canopy tour. First we got a presentation about Stormsrivers Adventures this is the company where we did the tour. The company takes care about social responsibility, transition, upliftment and local empowerment. Stormsrivers supports local projects such as the animal welfare program and an aids awareness program. The canopy tour exists of only zip lines and it was not that exciting. After this sportive morning we went to Tsitsikamma national park, here we did a hiking to the Suspension Bridge and had a lovely view. It was very warm this day and after the hiking we went to the beach to swim and relax a bit. Now the bungee jumpers had to cook a healthy meal for everybody and we ended this evening with playing some pool and drinking wine!
